Early tin mines were often very rudimentary affairs, as this rare image
of “Three young women and a girl at the Fair Play Tin Mine, Koorboora,
c.1907” shows. About 40km south west of Dimbulah, Koorboora was
slowly deserted as the tin ran out, and today there is little physical
evidence of the township. Jack & Newell opened a store in Koorboora
between 1902 and 1905.
